Discover the spirit, strength, and sportsmanship of Layton Christian Academy Eagles Football! Our program is dedicated to building character, discipline, and teamwork, pushing beyond the game to achieve greatness in life.
Rising Through the Ranks: Our Journey to Success
At LCA, our football team is a beacon of hard work and excellence. We compete vigorously in Utah's high school football scene, focusing on developing strategic minds and resilient spirits. Our athletes learn leadership on the field, translating those lessons into life successes.
Coaching Staff: Leadership Driving Success
Led by Head Coach Ray Stowers, our coaching team brings decades of experience and a relentless drive for success. Coach Ray Stowers has a commendable background as an assistant coach at the University of Utah, where he served as an administrative assistant for offense. This role contributed significantly to his coaching expertise, especially in developing offensive strategies and managing team dynamics.
Before taking on his current role at LCA, Stowers also gained experience coaching at local high schools such as Woods Cross and Viewmont. His tenure at these schools further solidified his coaching credentials, preparing him for his leadership roles in high school football.
With a collective vision of excellence, our coaches foster an environment where athletes excel through rigorous training and meaningful mentorship.
Eagles in the Spotlight: Our Star Alumni
Our top players, like the record-setting quarterback, Marcus Miles, who threw over 2,400 yards last season, and our defensive linemen (like Utah Utes Freshmen, Elijah Ellis) who have dominated the line of scrimmage, exemplify the pinnacle of high school athletics. These athletes are on their way to making significant impacts in collegiate sports.
Tevita Pome'e, 2022 Alumni, briefly played for the Oregon Ducks before entering the NCAA transfer portal. He was ranked as a three-star recruit coming out of high school and was the No. 5 player in Utah by 247Sports.
