Ready, set…say CHEESE!! Picture Day at LCA will be held NEXT week, Wednesday, September 25! Envelopes will go home with your child Monday or you can choose to pay online. Simply go to www.bellphoto.com, enter school code lca2019 and follow the prompts to complete your order! Once you have completed this, enter the provided PAID ONLINE code into the box on your child’s envelope and send back to school on Picture Day!
It’s Eaglettes season! Practices will be held every Thursday from 4-5:30pm and there will be one game a week.
The cost is $40 per month and the season runs from October-February as we support the middle school boys and girls basketball, as well as women’s high school basketball home games. If your Kindergarten-4th grade girl is interested in cheerleading, be sure to attend our parent information meeting Friday, September 27th at 4pm.
We have kicked off our Fun Run! For our new families, the Fun Run is our annual school fundraiser that takes place each year! Register your student on FUNRUN.COM using our school’s registration code 969-891 or by searching our school name. Your student will receive a FREE prize just for being registered.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 for upgrading AR books and software, as well as general school operating costs, and we need YOUR help! Gather pledges from family and friends and enter them on FUNRUN.COM. Your student should be bringing home a Pledgebook today—make sure to check it out to learn more about our fundraiser.
Thanks for helping us make LCA even better!
Once again it is time for our Science Fair for grades 3, 5, 7 & 9!! This year our Science Fair will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd. This is an opportunity for all students to discover the hidden scientist within themselves and to explore those unanswered questions!
Who: 3rd, 5th, 7th & 9th graders
Date and Location: This year’s fair will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 in the LCA gymnasium.
Fair Set Up: Exhibits should be brought to the school and set up between 8:00 and 8:30 the morning of the fair. All projects must be in place no later than 8:30 am.
Judging: Judging will begin at 8:45 am. Students will be judged on evidence of the use of the scientific method as well as on the student’s own knowledge of his/her experiment. Although parents are encouraged to help their children with the experiments and exhibit display, the student needs full knowledge and understanding of the experiment. The student should be able to fully explain what the experiment was about, how it was performed, the results obtained and the conclusions of the experiment in relation to their hypotheses. Grade 3 will go through the judging process; however, the students will not be given 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place ribbons. Instead, students will be awarded a special participation ribbon. Third grade students do not go on to district but will go through the same procedures so they can prepare for the future.
Parents and Public: The fair will be closed to all, except teachers, judges and students during the judging period. Exhibits will be open for parents and public viewing December 3rd from 1:00 to 2:30 pm (after judging is complete).
Removal of Exhibits: All exhibits need to be removed between 3:00 and 3:30 pm December 3.

Attached is a flow chart for traffic here at LCA. I know there are a lot of arrows on the picture but I promise it is not that hard to read. If you are entering from the West or exiting to go west, please use the west entrance/exit. If you are entering from the east or exiting to go east, please do so using the east entrance/exit. Also, in the mornings, we have a “drive thru” drop off zone. This is for parents that are not exiting their car but just dropping off their students at the door. If you plan on getting out of the car with your student, please use the other lane to go around and park your vehicle in the parking spots. We want to keep our kids safe and appreciate you helping us to do so.
