Parent Teacher Conferences

What a great first quarter we had!  Thank you so much for your support and encouragement as we work together to help your student(s) to have a successful 1st quarter.
Grades are being finalized and you can pick up your student’s report card at parent teacher conferences. They will be held Monday, October 28th from 4:30-7:30 p.m
Elementary conferences will be in the children’s church. Please ensure you have signed up for a conference time on the form outside of your student’s classroom.
Jr. high and high school conferences will be held in the gym. There is no need to sign up for a conference time. The teachers will meet with you on a first come first served basis.
***UPDATE: Just a heads up about a change we had to make in our plans for parent teacher conferences. The school’s gym is going to be used for a volleyball playoff game. For this reason, the elementary teachers are going to hold conferences in their classrooms and high school and junior high teachers to the children’s church and classrooms in the middle school. You will be directed accordingly as you arrive. Thanks for your understanding!!

Harvest Festival

Science Fair

Once again it is time for our Science Fair for grades 3, 5, 7 & 9!!  This year our Science Fair will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd.   This is an opportunity for all students to discover the hidden scientist within themselves and to explore those unanswered questions!

Who: 3rd, 5th, 7th & 9th graders

Date and Location:  This year’s fair will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 in the LCA gymnasium.

Fair Set Up:  Exhibits should be brought to the school and set up between 8:00 and 8:30 the morning of the fair.  All projects must be in place no later than 8:30 am.

Judging:  Judging will begin at 8:45 am.  Students will be judged on evidence of the use of the scientific method as well as on the student’s own knowledge of his/her experiment.  Although parents are encouraged to help their children with the experiments and exhibit display, the student needs full knowledge and understanding of the experiment.  The student should be able to fully explain what the experiment was about, how it was performed, the results obtained and the conclusions of the experiment in relation to their hypotheses. Grade 3 will go through the judging process; however, the students will not be given 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place ribbons.  Instead, students will be awarded a special participation ribbon. Third grade students do not go on to district but will go through the same procedures so they can prepare for the future.

Parents and Public:  The fair will be closed to all, except teachers, judges and students during the judging period.  Exhibits will be open for parents and public viewing December 3rd from 1:00 to 2:30 pm (after judging is complete).

Removal of Exhibits:  All exhibits need to be removed between 3:00 and 3:30 pm December 3.

Travel Club

Do you love to travel?  Do you love to experience new foods, new people, new cultures?  If you said yes we would love to have you join us on our next tour to England!  We will be going in the spring of 2021.  If you would like to see the full itinerary, please click on the following link and come join us on a trip of a lifetime!

Traffic Flow

Attached is a flow chart for traffic here at LCA.  I know there are a lot of arrows on the picture but I promise it is not that hard to read.  If you are entering from the West or exiting to go west, please use the west entrance/exit.  If you are entering from the east or exiting to go east, please do so using the east entrance/exit.  Also, in the mornings, we have a “drive thru” drop off zone.  This is for parents that are not exiting their car but just dropping off their students at the door.  If you plan on getting out of the car with your student, please use the other lane to go around and park your vehicle in the parking spots.  We want to keep our kids safe and appreciate you helping us to do so.

Service Hours Opportunities

*Our Residential Homes are in need of twin mattresses and chests of drawers! If you have these items you would like to donate, service hours can be awarded! Please contact Mrs. Miller at with questions or to arrange donation!

*We are looking for people who would be able to help us drive students to and from doctor’s appointments! Most appointments happen at Utah Orthopedics in South Ogden, near Ogden Regional Hospital and are scheduled during the day. If you are interested in being on the “on-call list” to help out with this need, please email Mrs. Miller at!

*I know it’s early, but it’s really right around the corner!!! LCA wants to provide a nice Thanksgiving meal for our International Residential Students.  If you can help out by donating a large turkey or a ham, we would appreciate it.  When you bring in the turkey/ham just bring in the receipt also and you can claim double the amount of hours.  (Example:  $20 turkey would be worth 4 service hours.) Also, as we get closer and you would like to donate other meal items we will also be appreciative of those: pies, rolls, stuffing, vegetables, etc. We would like all meat donations by Friday, Nov 22.  All other items can be dropped off by Tuesday Nov 26. Thanks so much for all you do!!!
