Congratulations to LCA’s 2018 State History Fair Winners & Participants!
The theme for 2018 History Fair Contest was conflict and compromise. LCA brought 12 students to this year’s history fair, competing against more than 7500 participants from Utah alone. This was our best year yet as we had 6 LCA students qualify for the National History Day Contest!
The students who qualified for the Utah state contest by winning the Weber Region contest held on the campus of Weber St. University were:
Ryan Frost and Ethan Stulp – Group Documentary on Pearl Harbor (Jr. Division)
Sage Mousley – Individual Performance on Marie Antoinette (Jr. Division)
Lingbai Ren – Individual Documentary on the Second Sino-Japanese War
Abby Doran and MaeLynn Schrader – Group Performance on the Cold War
Vi Doan and Sana Tan – Group Website on the Carlilse Indian School
Doris Umutoni Mwambutsa, Paula Umutoni, David Baingana, and Iana Ruheta – Group Performance on History of Rwanda
Vi and Sana are Utah State Champions of the Group Website category.
Doris, Paula, David, and Iana are Utah state champions in the Group Performance category.
Both groups have earned a chance to represent the state of Utah at the National Contest to be held in Washington, D.C in early June 2018!

Main Office Needs
Our Main Office is in need of Ibuprofen and Children’s Chewable Tylenol. Our students often have minor aches and pains that, with your permission, we are able to help treat while they are at school! We want to be able to continue to help out your students and with your help, we can! You can drop off any time in the Main Office! Thanks so much in advance!
We have had a great year so far with the travel flow and few problems. Please remember that when coming from the West to use the West Entrance and when coming from the East to use the East entrance and the same for departures. This will help the flow tremendously and help to avoid unnecessary accidents. Also, as a reminder that our blacktop becomes a playground for our elementary grades. If you are planning to remain at the school after than 8:45am, please do not park between the school and the basketball hoops. Thanks so much for helping us keep things running smoothly at LCA!
Looking for students and families who love to travel, explore the world, learn about the history, cultures, and languages of the world and want to become part of the LCA Travel Club!
Next stop on the itinerary…. ITALY!
Join us as we embark on a trip you will never forget as you experience its art, history and culture. In Venice, cars and roads give way to gondolas and canals, redefining what a city can be. The world’s best collection of Renaissance art awaits in Florence. And in Rome, behold Michelangelo’s take on creation at the Sistine Chapel and retrace the footsteps of ancient Romans at the Colosseum.
I am so excited to be able to share with you our spring break trip 2019 to Italy. Lets’s make these dreams a reality!
