High School Math Teacher Job Description

Layton Christian Academy is a Preschool-12th grade private Christian school and a ministry of Christian Life Center.  Located approximately 40 minutes north of Salt Lake City, Layton Christian Academy is in a prime location to be accessible to students from neighboring cities, as well as Hill Air Force Base.  With some 20+ countries represented, Layton Christian Academy has a diverse population of students, primarily in the high school (grades 9-12). Layton Christian Academy’s mathematics department is comprised of teachers who specialize in teaching upper level mathematics, to include Business Math, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, PreCalculus, Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Math 1010 and Math 1050.  Layton Christian Academy’s math teachers provide students with the tools needed to be successful in college level mathematics.  They are responsible for providing challenging lessons which incorporate a variety of teaching methods as well as hands on activities to enhance learning.  Their focus should be on introducing and expanding upon material to address the needs of all learners in their classroom.  They need to be creative , energetic and motivating as they strive to help their students grow both academically and spiritually.

The qualified applicant must have:

  • A profession of faith in Jesus Christ
  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • Current State Teaching License
