5th Grade: Mrs. Nielsen has been a life long learner, and believes learning takes place every day; many times in places and situations one may not expect. Mrs. Nielsen started her journey to earning a college degree at the University of Utah. She later attended Weber State University where she earned an Associate of Science degree in General Studies. After raising her three children, she decided it was time to finish what she had started so many years before. She attended Western Governor’s University where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Mrs. Nielsen taught 1st grade for several years in public schools before joining the elementary team at LCA in 2018 where she has taught 4th, 5th and 6th grades.
Mrs.Nielsen is extremely proud of her three grown kids and her husband, Jim. She says there is nothing better than spending time with the fam. Mrs. Nielsen and her husband have been able to travel to many countries over the past 15 years. They have traveled to England, Scotland, the Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Greece, Italy, Costa Rica, Canada and China. She feels truly blessed to have been able to experience the cultures of the world and is thankful she can experience the diversity at LCA!
