/Thursday Notes: September 14th

Not every school gets the opportunity to be great. Not every school gets the opportunity to be unique. Not every school gets the opportunity to impact the entire world…but at LCA, we have that opportunity each and every day. And beyond that, we get the opportunity to be family and come together as one. One body, one community, one amazing group of people from all over the world who love and care about each other and get to do life together every day. Together, we are a part of something so much bigger than ourselves; we are part of changing the world. You are. I am. We are…ONE.

Community Outreach

On Sept 22, we will have our annual Hot Dog Drive to benefit community outreach.  Each student that brings in a package of hot dogs on Friday, Sept 22 can wear Jeans & Tshirt that day!!

We will also have a competition between the classes and the class that brings in the most will receive an Ice Cream party!

Main Office Needs

The Main Office is in need of Band-Aids! Your kiddos sometimes come to us with cuts and scrapes and we want to be able to take care of them well! Band-Aids can be dropped off in the Main Office or to your child’s teacher! Thanks in advance!!

International Travel

Come with us to GREECE!

As our world becomes increasingly interconnected, it is critical for our students to become more culturally aware and globally-minded. To be able to experience the global classroom first-hand and see what they have been studying in their classes come to life is truly amazing. It gives them new perspectives- not only of themselves, but also of the world around them!

We are pleased to announce that we are taking students on an educational tour to Greece during April of 2018 (Spring Break). What is it like to live in a country where classical mythology and ancient history still have a presence in everyday life? In the capital of Athens, namesake of the goddess Athena, we will walk in the footsteps of ancient Greeks at the Acropolis – and in the footsteps of current residents in the Plaka district. In Delphi, Epidaurus and Cape Sounion, learn how an old belief in mythological figures still influences medicine, politics and philosophy.

Space for this program is limited!

Lunch Reminder

Just a reminder to those students who bring their lunch to school.  The school does not have supplies such as plates, forks, spoons, etc.  You must furnish your own each day.  Thanks in advance!!

If you’ve been outside in the last few days, you’ve noticed something. The seasons are beginning to change. The days of 95 degrees seem to be behind us and fall is on it’s way! Life has a rhythm and cycles. In order to navigate through each day, it is important to recognize what season we are in. We wouldn’t wear a winter coat outside on a hot summer day because we know the season we’re in. The same is true in life. We can find ourselves wanting to do great and wonderful things, but the timing or the season just might not be right. We simply must know the season we are in. When we do what we’re supposed to do in the season that we’re in, then God will bring the increase! Take the pressure off yourself. Do what you can, when you can, where you are, and then you will see God will do what only He can do!
