Science Fair

Who: 3rd, 5th, 7th & 9th graders
Date and Location: This year’s fair will be held on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 in the LCA gymnasium.
Fair Set Up: Exhibits should be brought to the school and set up between 8:00 and 8:30 the morning of the fair. All projects must be in place no later than 8:30 am.
Judging: Judging will begin at 8:45 am. Students will be judged on evidence of the use of the scientific method as well as on the student’s own knowledge of his/her experiment. Although parents are encouraged to help their children with the experiments and exhibit display, the student needs full knowledge and understanding of the experiment. The student should be able to fully explain what the experiment was about, how it was performed, the results obtained and the conclusions of the experiment in relation to their hypotheses. Grade 3 will go through the judging process; however, the students will not be given 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place ribbons. Instead, students will be awarded a special participation ribbon. Third grade students do not go on to district but will go through the same procedures so they can prepare for the future.
Parents and Public: The fair will be closed to all, except teachers, judges and students during the judging period. Exhibits will be open for parents and public viewing December 3rd from 1:00 to 2:30 pm (after judging is complete).
Removal of Exhibits: All exhibits need to be removed between 3:00 and 3:30 pm December 3.
Morning Coffee Bar
Be sure to stop by our coffee bar located each morning in the Main Entrance of our High School Wing. The coffee bar features coffee and morning goodies like donuts and pastries–and all items are $1! The coffee bar is open to student AND parents…especially for those mornings on the go! 🙂 Stop by and grab a cup of coffee or a treat and say hello!!

Travel Club
Do you love to travel? Do you love to experience new foods, new people, new cultures? If you said yes we would love to have you join us on our next tour to England! We will be going in the spring of 2021. If you would like to see the full itinerary, please click on the following link and come join us on a trip of a lifetime!
Traffic Flow
Attached is a flow chart for traffic here at LCA. I know there are a lot of arrows on the picture but I promise it is not that hard to read. If you are entering from the West or exiting to go west, please use the west entrance/exit. If you are entering from the east or exiting to go east, please do so using the east entrance/exit. Also, in the mornings, we have a “drive thru” drop off zone. This is for parents that are not exiting their car but just dropping off their students at the door. If you plan on getting out of the car with your student, please use the other lane to go around and park your vehicle in the parking spots. We want to keep our kids safe and appreciate you helping us to do so.
Service Hours Opportunities
*Our Residential Homes are in need of twin mattresses and chests of drawers! If you have these items you would like to donate, service hours can be awarded! Please contact Mrs. Miller at Karen.Miller@LCAeagle.org with questions or to arrange donation!
*We are also in need of very large area rugs in good condition. These rugs are needed by Tuesday, September 24th. Please contact Mrs. Miller at Karen.Miller@LCAeagle.org with questions or to arrange donation!
*Tuesday, Oct. 15 and/or Wednesday, Oct. 16, from 8:45-10:45 am we are in need of 6 parents for “Mock Job Interviews” for the 8th grade. This is a fun way to get to know students and be involved on campus! (You do not have to be an 8th grade parent to participate.)
