Decisions, decisions, decisions…

We all make them every single day. Some big, some small…but even when we make the decision to do nothing, we’ve still made a decision!

Often we’re afraid of making the wrong decision, and that creates stress. When we can’t make up your mind, we stagger through life. In fact, the Bible says when we remain double-minded, we become unstable in everything we do (James 1).

But God says there is an antidote to our indecision. Psalm 23:3 tells us, “He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake”. We handle the stress of decision-making by letting God guide us.

You may be thinking, “But I’ve tried this!” You asked God to guide you, but then you became more confused than before. You still couldn’t figure it out. Now you wonder, “Why is knowing God’s will so difficult?” Is God playing games with us? Of course not! God wants to guide us. He wants us to know his will more than we want to know it. Our problem is we often look for the wrong thing when we’re trying to find God’s will. We may look for a feeling. We want to be swept off our feet by some emotion so we can say, “That’s how I know what God’s will is!” Or we may want a methodical approach to God’s will. We want somebody to give us a recipe or a formula to apply. Or some of us may take a magical approach to God’s will.  We’re looking for God to do some fantastic sign—write it in the sky, call us on the phone, send us a telegram. But undoubtedly, all of these ways will leave us frustrated and still searching for an answer.

God’s will is not a feeling or a formula or something he wants you to be frustrated or fearful about.  God does not want you confused, and he does not want you stressed over making any decision. He is there, guiding you every step of the way.

We need some supplies.  Does anyone own a lockbox (with combination) that can be loaned to the math department for this event?  If you do, please drop it off with Sheli in the main office with your name on it (we need 5 lockboxes).  It will be returned to you after the event. We are also in need of several Rummikub games, which will also be returned after the event.

Thank you for your support!

Main Office Needs

Our Main Office is in need of Ibuprofen and Children’s Chewable Tylenol. Our students often have minor aches and pains that, with your permission, we are able to help treat while they are at school! We want to be able to continue to help out your students and with your help, we can! You can drop off any time in the Main Office! Thanks so much in advance!

Traffic Flow

We have had a great year so far with the travel flow and few problems. Please remember that when coming from the West to use the West Entrance and when coming from the East to use the East entrance and the same for departures. This will help the flow tremendously and help to avoid unnecessary accidents.  Also, as a reminder that our blacktop becomes a playground for our elementary grades. If you are planning to remain at the school after than 8:45am, please do not park between the school and the basketball hoops. Thanks so much for helping us keep things running smoothly at LCA!

Yearbook

Dear Supporter of Layton Christian Academy,

LCA has many great traditions. One of these traditions includes students receiving a yearbook at the end of the school year as a record of their experiences.

We want to reward our students for their hard work with a quality memento which is shared with family and friends. We are offering families and local businesses the opportunity to advertise or sponsor in the yearbook and to join our graduating families in celebration of a fantastic high school career. (It is also a great way to target local, Davis County customers for your business!) Compared to a newspaper ad which is in someone’s house for maybe a week, a yearbook is something folks look at over an extended period of time.

  • ½ Page Advertisement-$100
  • ¼ Page Advertisement-$50
  • 1/8th Page Advertisement-$25
  • Page Sponsor-$10
  • Personal message to your student-$5 per line (21 characters per line)

Feel free to be as creative as you want to be! To reserve your space contact Cal Williams via phone at (801) 771-7141 or via email at calvin.williams@lcaeagle.org We appreciate your support.

Sincerely,

Yearbook Committee
