Elementary School – Visual and Performing Arts

MUSIC LESSONS

Students enrolled in first grade and above may take private piano or violin lessons, and students in fourth grade and above take lessons in: piano, violin, voice, drums, brass, and woodwinds. Under the direction of LCA music director, Dr. Rey Roa, the lessons are taught by members of his qualified staff for thirty minutes a week during the school week. Annual recitals are presented for the students to demonstrate their progress to their families and friends.

Lessons begin in September and end in May, and students are assessed a monthly fee. Students may be asked to purchase music books as directed by the instructor.  They are enrolled for a full year, unless the school office is notified in writing prior to the beginning of the month.

ELEMENTARY CHRISTMAS MUSICAL & SPRING MUSICAL

Students in Grades 1-5 prepare in the fall for the annual Elementary Christmas Musical, and in the second semester for the spring musical in May. The musicals feature drama, costumes, set designs, and choreographed musical selections. The musical is prepared under the direction of Dr. Rey Roa and LCA’s music department. Each student will be assessed a nominal fee to cover expenses incurred for the spring musical. There is no admission charge to this event, but tickets may be purchased in the school office for  reserved seats.
